✂ Who is La Belle Vintage?
LA BELLE VINTAGE is a POC/Minority Women owned establishment. We come from a long line of haberdashers and dressmakers since the early 1900's. Fashion, design and shop-keeping runs through our veins. We believe that wearing vintage is a fashion statement and it will always be in style.
We sell vintage and are also costume designers. Our company has been privileged to design for plays on and off Broadway, theater production, box office hits and television.
We research every single item we sell extensively. You will usually find an original advertisement of the item for sale and the exact date it was made or sold.
Our items come from estate sales or museum deaccessioned auctions so we will sometimes have complete ensembles of what items were worn together. Occasionally, we will have photos of the original wearer of our items.
✂ Who is Sascha?
Sascha is the owner of this fabulous online boutique. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Business Administration. She also holds a Master's degree in Fashion and Textile Studies which includes History, Theory and Museum Practice where she excelled at the top of her class at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
This course of study combines the rigorous study of fashion and textile history with hands-on training in the analysis, conservation, storage, and exhibition of textile and costume materials.
She knows the historical and cultural significance of fashion, and was trained to approach costume and textile history from various traditional and innovative perspectives.
Along with her inherited training in dressmaking and shopkeeping, she has practical skills, like how to dress a mannequin, how to properly measure clothing, how to identify fibers, the proper way to roll/package a textile, and how to clean textiles.
In addition to this, she has over 20 years experience in the customer service/sales industry with a focus on advertising and customer relations. She has been selling online since 1999 when La Belle Vintage launched it's website. She has sold on several different venues including Ebay so she knows her stuff :)
